A Lonely Journey

The Loremaster Achievement reminds me of the marathon runner. It's a long and lonely run through every quest across all the continents that make up Azeroth. "Will it be worth it?" I ask myself.
Yes it will be worth it to sport the Loremaster colours tabard, and to have the Loremaster title too.

I have found that it is an excellent path to take within the game if you have found yourself becoming a little bored of raiding.
I have discovered that completing quest chains and story lines opens up dailies, and as a result you have a way of earning rep. Since I don't read game guides this was a genuine discovery for me.

So what is the best way to attain this achievement? I suppose you could level a character through questing, and do it that way, but you may find yourself up against an elite mob that may be difficult to take down, even though end story line bosses have been nerfed.

You can level to 90 and then you can go and breeze you way through all the quests. This is the way that I did it, but it's still long, as you have to backtrack through every area again. So far I have achieved Loremaster of Cataclysm, and I am almost finished Pandaria. My next area will be Eastern Kingdoms. For some reason I am not looking forward to Northrend. A bleak snow covered land that genuinely gives me the shivers.

And finally you could still raid, do scenarios, do dungeons, PvP, and quest while queuing without losing the social and multiplayer aspect of the game. The reason that I choose to solo my way through, is to try to get it done as quickly as possible without any distractions. Also the durability of your armour may become quite low while out questing. There is nothing worse than entering a dungeon to find your armour is on yellow.

And so the journey begins. You leave your home city, and venture out into the wilds of Azeroth, making random inns your temporary home along the way. Occasionally you have to return to a major city to check out the warchief's command board, but your stay is brief.

Guild chat becomes irrelevant to what you are doing, as they concentrate on raids and heroics. But I still find the time just to say "Hi." One day I will return, and concentrate on gearing up for guild raids, but for now I have set a goal, and am completely focused on something else. It's going to be a long, lonely and adventurous journey, but one which I hope will show my dedication to the game, when I finally return home to my adopted city of Orgrimmar wearing my Loremaster tabard.
