Is this the real world?
I had always wondered why the Trolls spoke with a Jamaican accent, it wasn't until I read the Tides of Darkness, that I noticed that they speak the same way in the book. I am unsure if the book is following the game, of the other way around but this was enough to start me thinking. It can be dangerous to think too much, but it gave me an idea for this post. The big question on my mind was, is Azeroth loosely based on the Real World?
If we look at the map we see two large continents, and two land masses to the North and South. The Southern one, Pandaria, is most definitely Asia/China.
Then we have the Trolls, who originally resided on Echo Isles off Kalimdor. To me this was resembling the Caribbean Islands. So that begs to question,
Is Kalimdor a representation of America? That would make the Eastern Kingdoms, either the Uk, or Europe entire.
Northrend would be the Nordic countries I presume.
If another continent were to appear what would it be? Perhaps Australia! in which case we could have a new playable race similar to Kangaroos. Kanga's, roos, Kangaren's, the possibilities are endless.
