Day 1, Level 80-81

It's my first real day at level 80 and it's time to move on and join the big boys. I have never levelled a character to 90 before so I am anxious to get going.

My home base at the moment is in Orgrimmar, so I go to the Warchief's command board and pick up 2 available quests. Mount Hyjal and Vashj'ir.
To get to Mount Hyjal I spoke to Cenarion Blackhoof, who provided me transportation. Along the way we catch sight of Deathwing and we fly to Nordrassil. Upon reaching Nordrassil there is an opportunity to increase your armours ilvl. A complete set of ilvl 232 Dreadsoul Armour can be bought from Iris Moondreamer. After this, report to Ysera, who sends you to help Malfurion Stormrage in his bid to protect the World Tree (Nordrassil). I thought this was very cool, and I took the opportunity to take few photos while I was there. I managed to pick up a couple of quests from outside the Inn, and chained the available quests. This chain of quests only bought me half a level. Also after getting ganked numerous times, and general chat constantly announcing that various areas were under attack, I decided not to stay around Mt Hyjal, so I moved on to Warchief's command quest two, Vashj'ir.

With the Vashj'ir quest I had to report to Thorak at Bloodfist Bay in Durotar, and this led me to a place under the sea called Kelp'tar Forest. Since all this area is below water you are required to complete an initial quest, and the reward is sea legs. This is a passive ability to allow you to breath underwater in this area only.
I loved Kelp'tar Forest, and it was here that I dinged 81. Also, I got hold of a super cool seahorse mount. There is numerous Loremaster Quests to do down here too, and the opportunity to pick up some rare item quest rewards.

Prior to lvl 80 I had played my Warlock in demonlogy spec. At 80 I changed to affliction, and by the end of the day my DPS for single targets, using the most basic rotation, had reached a maximum of 2200.

The funniest moment of the night was getting ganked. After I resurrected I met that same player. I just stood and stared at him before turning my back and swimming away. The next thing I see in my chat window is "x apologises to you, Sorry". Nice end to a days gaming.

Some pictures from my travels

My first glimpse of Deathwing, the Aspect of Death. The dragon who loves pain, and enjoys having metal plates hammered into his molten core.
Deathwing
Ysera, the Aspect of Nature, who goes around with her eyes closed. I wonder can she see me?

Here is me admiring the new and sparkly Well of Eternity, created by Illidan.

Hmmm, Malfurion is not a terribly handsome being at all. Well here he is. Protecting Nordrassil......by just standing there?
